I have been fishing since I was four years old.  Like a lot of you, my grandfather started me out on the bank with a cork.  I fished my first Bass tournaments in 1976 and began fishing on the national level with BASS in April of 1981.  Coincidentally, my first national tournament was on Lake of the Ozarks.

I was raised near the St. Louis Area, in the town of Alton and attended college at Louisiana Tech University.  After college, for the next 25 years, I owned and operated a manufacturer's rep agency that sold hunting and fishing gear to distributors' and dealers.  During this period of my life, I also shot trap professionally, for Winchester.  I am also an instrument rated pilot with more than 3,000 flight hour, most of which were in a Beachcraft Bonanza that I once owned

In 1997, I sold my business and move to the Lake of the Ozarks to care for my ailing father.  That's when I started guide fishing on a full time basis.  After ten years of guide fishing, I began hosting the "Lets Fish" television show in 2007.  You can view an episode of this show from the link on my homepage.

As you can see, I am an avid and experienced outdoorsman.  I have spent a great deal of time bow hunting all across out great country including four excursions in Alaska.  My wife, who is from Germany, and I were married in 2007 and I think she has finally gotten used to my weird life and the house full of mounts.

At this point you may be wondering what does this guy do to relax?  Well, I play golf of course!  Golf?  Relax?  I know, the most frustrating game in the world can't be that relaxing.  I have been playing since I was ten.  You would think I would have learned by now.

Now that you know all about me, give me a call and book a trip with a guy who can find the fish and swap stories about most anything.  I promise to work hard to provide you with an entertaining and relaxing day of productive fishing.

Thanks for stopping by,

Skip Surbaugh
